About Aaron

In my free time at the start of this year I decided to to teach myself the skills necessary to create a website. I first tinkered around with building websites during my teenage years, mostly using Homestead and Geocities drag-and-drop builders with the addition of some scripts that turned your cursor into a "badass" crosshair or simulated snow flakes falling on your page.

As little as I knew then, there was still something magical about establishing a presence on the Internet. Creating this website has given me much of the same enjoyment that I experienced as a teenager. It has also given me a deeper understanding of digital marketing and a more technical understanding of web development. To create this website I used HTML, CSS, and jQuery, but it is my mission to deepen that knowledge by working on more projects and learning new languages. With that said, I hope you enjoy what I have created so far and learn a bit about me in the process.

I love all things tennis

I have played, watched, and enjoyed tennis since I could walk. During my teenage years I played local and regional tournaments. I also played high school tennis; some of my biggest accomplishments include winning FAVC Conference Player of the Year, 1st Team All League, and the Edward Jones Student Athlete of the Month Award. I've even coached young players.

While I opted to not play college tennis, I still continue to religiously follow the professional tour. Living in Cincinnati for most of my life has allowed me to attend the prestigious Western and Southern Open nearly every summer. The tournament is extremely fan-friendly and it is not uncommon to walk right by the likes of Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal. When I'm not watching tennis I'm always up for a hit with anyone that wants to play.

Food rules

For some, food is merely a biological impulse to sustain life. For me, it's a lifestyle. I love trying new restaurants as well as cooking up my own creations. I even have a Randy Marsh-esque addiction to the Food and Travel Channels; Anthony Bourdain, Alton Brown, and Chef Morimoto from Iron Chef are all idols of mine. Part of my passion for food stems from my interest in learning about different cultures. Food offers an insight into the lives of others around the world.

Passionate about gaming...

I was born into a golden age for gaming. My earliest video game memories are of the Sega Genesis. I was lucky enough to experience the back end of the 2D generation with classics like Sonic The Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat, and Earthworm Jim as well as experience the massive step into the Nintendo 64/Playstation era. It was during this time that I developed an obsession with first-person shooters through Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. I also fell in love with the Legend of Zelda series (Ocarina of Time is my still the best game of all time in my opinion). I later discovered the joys of PC gaming with Infantry Online and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. I was able to get many of my neighborhood friends into Wolfenstein: ET and some of my fondest memories of the game are of us playing in competitive leagues as teammates against players from all around the world. Today I still play Wolfenstein from time to time but as of late I have settled on playing the occasional Call of Duty game with my brother online. Competitive games that require a high level of skill and have a social component are my favorite. I look forward with great anticipation to the future of competitive gaming/ESports, but that is a monologue for a different time!

...and other things too!

It's hard to describe all of your interests in detail without feeling like an overzealous narcissist. So without going into too much detail, I also enjoy hiking, music festivals (seeing a concert at Red Rocks may have had undue influence on my decision to move to Colorado), my girlfriend, and hanging with friends and family.
